Mr. Sagnik Chakraborty is one of India's most distinguished German language educators — a rare scholar who unites the rigour of academic linguistics with the lived practice of a professional translator, literary interpreter, journalist and creative writer.
With over 21 years as a Teacher of German as a Foreign Language, he has shaped the careers of hundreds of students across India. His decade as a Teachers' Trainer reflects a commitment not merely to learners, but to elevating the very standards of German language pedagogy nationwide.
As Former Head of the Language Department at Goethe-Centrum Coimbatore and a long-standing guest teacher across multiple Goethe-Institut network locations, he brings both institutional authority and cultural depth to every classroom.
He holds the Grünes Diplom — the Goethe-Institut's coveted teacher certification — and is a Certified Examiner for both the Goethe-Institut and ÖSD, the two foremost German language examination boards in the world. He is also a participant in the prestigious Goethe-Institut Mumbai's Digital Translation Academy (Diamantenschliff), focused on translating German prose and poetry into Bengali.
As Director of German Academics & Translations at the Life Planner Group of Companies, he now leads F.L.A.G.'s German training operations across Kochi and Kottayam — guiding students on their pathways to Ausbildung and nursing careers in Germany.
